About
Who Are We?
We are a diverse group of Christians united by a shared commitment to addressing substance use with compassion and understanding. Our team brings a combination of lived experience and professional expertise from the health, social service, and government sectors—equipping us with a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding addiction and its ripple effects on individuals, families and communities.
What is Out of Hiding?
Out of Hiding is developing a thoughtfully crafted video series exploring the realities of addiction—its roots, its far-reaching impacts, and how we can respond effectively. The series seeks to illuminate paths of understanding, empathy, and action, encouraging faith communities to engage with these issues in meaningful ways.
Why now?
Substance use is a significant and growing issue in our communities, yet addiction remains largely misunderstood in our churches. This lack of awareness keeps the issue hidden, leaving those affected—both individuals struggling with addiction and their loved ones—unseen and unsupported. We are committed to bringing this reality into the light, fostering understanding, empathy, and action within faith communities.
Who is it for?
Out of Hiding videos are designed specifically for churches and faith communities, offering insights and tools to help them respond to addiction with greater wisdom, compassion, and support.

After they went into to recovery, I thought that they would be recovered. But it wasn't that simple.

"There isn't one solidified form of helping somebody out of addiction. But if a person is still breathing and has a heartbeat, there is hope.”
